Uber arrives in Durban

Have you heard of Uber yet?

“Uber is evolving the way the world moves. By seamlessly connecting riders to drivers through our apps, we make cities more accessible, opening up more possibilities for riders and more business for drivers. From our founding in 2009, to our launches in over 35 cities today, Uber’s rapidly expanding global presence continues to bring people and their cities closer.”

This is what it says on their website, but what does it actually mean for you?
Uber is a mobile app that enables passengers to connect with drivers of vehicles for hire.

In a nutshell, Uber is an app you install on your phone – iphone or android – you create a profile, search for a driver in your area, request a pick up, ride and then pay via your mobile phone (via your pre-loaded credit card details) {GET R400 FREE CREDIT below!}
No cash, no cards, no fuss.

It’s instant – you don’t pre-book a lift, you literally open the app when you need a ride and you’ll be able to see where drivers are, how long it will take for them to get to you, what their name is and what car they are driving.

You can get an estimate on how much the ride will cost you before you commit to the pick up.
There’s a R17 base fare charge, you then pay R6.80/kilometre & R2.10/minute, with a minimum fare charge of R35.
If you’re traveling with mates (up to 4 in a car), you can split the fare at the tap of a button – no more haggling – just one click and you’ll each be charged half the fare.

Book the ride, they arrive, you ride! Easy!
Uber partners with drivers who care about their riders and have a passion for the trade. From insurance to background checks, every driver meets all local regulations

As well as the Americas and Asia Pacific areas, Uber has launched in Europe, Middle East & Africa in these cities:
Amsterdam, Berlin, Dubai, Cape Town, Joburg, Durban, London, Lyon, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, Stockholm & Zurich
