Tsogo Sun relaunches Raffles with Sky

I went to the opening of Sky last week – the Southern Sun Elangeni & Maharani Hotel relaunch of the infamous Raffles venue.
Raffles was an institution in Durban and from what I’ve heard, many a spectacular night was had there {some more spectacularly festive than others!}

The new multipurpose venue on the 31st floor of the Maharani Tower offers the most magnificent panoramic views over Durban. The windows are set at 45 degree angles from floor to ceiling, so you get a view over the whole of Durban’s Golden Mile as well as inland towards to the Berea – and looking down is awesome! Everyone looks like ants!
Sky now offers an ideal ‘venue with a view’ for conferences, launches, themed evenings, banquets, private functions and celebrations and features extensive stage, lighting and sound production equipment and facilities. It can accommodate up to 250 people, or more intimate groups, with a main floor of 300 square metres.

Tsogo Sun have embarked on a R220 million refurbishment and relaunch of the Southern Sun Elangeni and Maharani which is great for investment in Durban as a whole. Following this upgrade, one of the most iconic Art Deco buildings on the beachfront will be upgraded too – a R100 million refurbishment of the Garden Court Marine Parade.

I highly recommend this as a venue for any event that requires a wow-factor and I hope I’m on the guest list of some snazzy soiree at Sky soon – it really is swishy!
