In House Brand Architects

I loved the revamp of the 99c agency in Cape Town so was excited to see that In House Brand Architects have just completed an interior revamp project in Durban too – that of Regent Insurance Brokers in Umhlanga.

The result is atypical insurance company – the space has a personality and strong focus was paid to the way staff work everyday. The design team, led by In House Director Phillip Wyatt, focused on increasing staff morale by providing an appealing work environment. In order to encourage a mix of different functions within the office space, Wyatt incorporated what he refers to as ‘camp sites’ – zones that allow staff to breakaway and meet informally. Workplace efficiency was also a prime concern, with attention paid to providing the correct infrastructure relating to conferencing systems within meeting rooms and boardrooms.

Clever use of colours, materials and finishes make this revamp cut through the usual corporate clutter you’d expect in an insurance firm – it’s great to see cool design ideas working in tandem with functional design – after all, we spend so much time at work, whist it needs to serve a purpose, it should also be fun and encourage productivity!breakawayroomstaffcafeteriasignagemeetingroomdetailfeaturewallceilingdetail
