DURBAN GUIDE

Station Drive Precinct – Durban’s 1st creative precinct

There’s an amazing energy buzzing through our city at the moment with the announcement of the Rivertown development and the launch of our first weekly artisanal market – The Morning Trade.
But another equally cool city gem has been quietly developing – the Station Drive Precinct – which already houses Open Plan StudioThe Foundry and well known leather goods brand Savior Brand Co along with its new off-shoot – Savior Coffee Co.

If you’ve ever visited the Woodstock Foundry in Cape Town, this will excite you no end, as it’s a similar collaboration of small, independent creative companies and creators under one roof. The Foundry itself is a renovated old clothing factory, which is now a creative hub consisting of floors of artisanal workshops/studios and co-working spaces and offices.

Collaborative spaces are slowly becoming the preferred choices for creatives looking for the synergy and innovation achieved from working alongside fellow creatives. The flexibility of renting desk & office space in such an environment is also immensely appealing and creative office space is currently available for rental at The Foundry.

Cannot wait to pop past for a coffee and have a look see!
The last Pecha Kucha was held here, so look out for the next one as well as other events.
