Giveaway: Taste of Durban 2015

askashe_tasteofdurban

I visited Taste of Cape Town in April and loved it – these food festivals are one of the highlights on my foodie year calendar, as being able to sample small dishes in a variety of different flavours is my favourite way to eat. It’s like eating tapas – small selections of flavours and ingredients that don’t take up too much room, so you have room for more! So the date of the Taste of Durban Festival at the end of this month is firmly in my diary, as it should be in yours.
You can expect the following selection of restaurants and foodie highlights at this year’s Taste of Durban Festival, which is being held at Suncoast between 24th & 26th July 2015:
Greedy Buddha
Amaravathi Palki
The Jackie Cameron School of Food & Wine
Beluga
Boiler Room Café
Vigour & Verve
Café Vigour
Simply Asia

The Durban eKasi Experience is back again and will include Hollywoodbets & Max’s Lifestyle with a traditional eKasi-style feature, as is the Castle Milk Stout Experience and the Robertsons Ultimate Burger Classes. Pair your food with wine or cocktails at either the Butcher’s Block & Two Oceans Wines stands or The Bacardi Mixology Theatre & Cocktail Lounge and make sure not to miss the artisanal offerings from Black Mamba Chili, Begks Hungarian Smoked Food, Woodview, Bizzibanting, Kupcake Heaven, Sugarlicious and Daniela’s Deliciously Decadent.

During the day sessions, you can take the kids along and drop them at the Classy Party Planners play area where they will be entertained with craft sessions, sand art, colouring & painting, as well as having access to slides, mascots & face painting for R30 per child.

As always, the festival currency is Crowns and these can be purchased at the festival from the Taste Bank or mobile Crown Sellers – remember each crown is worth R5.
Event tickets can be purchased prior to the festival online from Ticketpro.

These are the 2015 Festival times:
× Friday 24 July: 6pm –  10pm
× Saturday 25 July: 12:30pm – 4:30pm and 6pm – 10pm
× Sunday 26 July:2:30pm – 5:30pm

And the various Ticket Prices:
× Standard Ticket – *R80 (includes entrance & tasting glass)
× Premium Ticket – *R180 (includes entrance & tasting glass, plus R100 worth of Crowns)
× Taste Clubhouse Ticket – R750 (includes fast track entrance, tasting glass, R150 worth of Crowns, a private clubhouse to use as a base for the show & complimentary wine, malt & soft drinks, plus a Taste of Durban Gift)

    Hey Food Lovers…

I would like to take my Darling boyfriend Yazeed to the Taste of Durban festival next week as we’re both major food critics and Food Lovers. One of our romantic moments spent are based on eating at different restaurants every week which involves bonding time and satisfying our food cravings. Being at the food festival would only enchace the amazing relationship that we have and I know where We’d be spending that weekend at suncoast, if we win. Hoping to enjoy the tantalising, aromatic, provoking and Delicious delicacies. Pick us for the Love we have for food… :) #TasteDbn

I would like to win two tickets to the taste Durban. If I win I would like to take my sister, Renee with me. We both love good food and whenever we read great reviews on any restaurant we ensure that we go and try it out. Usually women hardly eat as they always watching their figures, we love food. My sister is a great cook and I always get to taste samples of her dishes and desserts.
