The well i am wellness challenge

Anyone who knows me well, knows how I feel about exercise. I don’t feel much.
In fact I have a favourite saying – “When I feel like running, I lie down until the feeling passes”.
I even said in a recent interview with Jane Kilian that my favourite exercise was, wait for it – stretching!
So you can imagine how I felt when the team at well i am approached me to take part in this year’s challenge.
However, I have recently become more conscious about what I eat and where my food comes from, so it’s high time I added body wellness to that state of mind.
A few months ago I was approached by Simone Hanekom at The Fitness Shack to take part in a ‘couch to marathon’ programme, which scared the living daylights out of me – running a marathon is so low down on my life agenda, that I couldn’t muster the motivation to do that and I politely declined her kind offer – she’s currently whipping a team of keen clients into shape though, so check out her site if this appeals to any of you couch potatoes out there.

But the reason the well i am challenge appealed to me (after I stopped hyperventilating), was that it encompasses an overall wellness programme, as well as eating plans and exercise routines and this was exactly what I needed to shift my A into G.
Yes the exercises include lunges and push ups and the ever-dreaded jumping jack (oh my word I hate those!), but if I’m serious about wellness, I’m going to have to incorporate some sort of movement into my sedentary lifestyle.

Also, now that I’m sharing this online, I pretty much can’t be caught eating any naughty stuff in public…
(Watch I will be invited to cake parties every week now!)

The awesome goodies sent to me by the well i am team

The well i am team sent me my Biogen transformation starter kit, as well as some other goodies, including a Sistema hamper of flipping cool KLIP IT™ containers (it’s like they knew I have an obsession for little contaniers!) AND a Philips Airfryer, which fries, roasts, bakes and grills with air and not oil!
Cannot wait to get this baby fired up – thanks team!
There was also a huge hamper from Nutreats, which is an online store I hadn’t heard of before, which stocks sports nutrition products and gear, as well as health foods, which you can order online and have delivered to your door.

So, the pressure is on – I have just 8 weeks until the end of the challenge to change my lifestyle!
