The Oyster Box in Spring

I do love a visit to The Oyster Box – we are so lucky to have it in Durban – I mean have you been there recently and had a cocktail overlooking the Umhlanga Ocean and all the way back to Durban’s skyline?! Look at that picture – millionaires pay money in bucket loads to travel all over the world to get those kinds views and we have it here right on our doorstep.
Lucky little fishies us Durbanites!

So it’s been a pretty good week for Durban what with the 2022 announcement, so I’m keen for a celebratory drink or ten this weekend or sometime in September. To get you inspired too, here’s some info on what’s happening at The Oyster Box this month, plus some new additions to their food events:

The Chef’s Table:
You can now book a private 5 course menu for 6-10 guests in the hotel kitchen, with Executive Chef Kevin Joseph and his team.
Price per person is R950.00, available Sunday – Thursday.
Morning Tea for new Mums:
Host family & friends at a tea party for 15-30 people to meet the new baby.
Price per person is R195 which includes a welcome drink, morning tea stands, coffee, tea & juice, available Monday to Sunday between 8am and 12pm.

Don’t forget the new Oyster, Salmon & Sushi Bar which is open between 12pm and 8pm, where guests are able to order a selection of  seafood including sushi, fresh oysters, salmon, asian tapas, prawns & crayfish, along with bubbly. I’m giving it a try next week, so watch out for my feedback.

The Oyster Bar

If you’re after live music, head to The Lighthouse Bar on Weds/Thurs/Fri, or The Oyster Bar, Mon – Friday, between 6:30pm and 9:30pm, or The Ocean Terrace on Sat/Sun between 12pm and 3pm.

And The Oyster Box still offer their curry buffet, high tea, dinner dance and evening indulgence packages, so you have plenty of options for a special occasion. I had their curry buffet recently and am still full ;)

I literally had to click on this image because I couldn’t believe Kommetjie or Sea Point had become so cool over night. As I discovered – they hadn’t. Go Durban! This place looks amazing! Time to plan my second trip back to the city ;)
