I blame my Italian roots for my side padding – there is absolutely no way I could ever not eat pasta.
So when I was invited to try out the new Pasta Factory menu at Remo’s Fratelli in Mount Edgecombe, I was there before you could say tagliatelle.
And that was one of the dishes we ordered – beef bolognese served with homemade fresh tagliatelle.
Bolognese sauce when made properly is bowl-lickingly good and this certainly was – let’s just say I didn’t get my full ‘share’ of this dish… someone else hoarded it.
The other dish was the aglio e olio – garlic, olive oil & chilli tossed in penne served with calamari and it was also delicious – the pasta was cooked al dente, the chilli was hot and the calamari tender – a perfect combination.
Ok so the cool thing about The Pasta Factory is that it’s not just a new addition to the Remo’s menu – they also run pizza & pasta making classes every Tues, Weds, Fri, Sat & Sun between 9am and 2pm. The classes appeal to kids and are a great way to introduce them to cooking. For more info email email@example.com
