On my recent trip up to the Midlands when I stayed at Brahman Hills, I stopped in at the newly opened Midland’s Kitchen which is located at the old Windmills Stop, opposite the Linga Lapa.
It’s a flipping marvelous addition to an otherwise dismal experience at roadside eateries along the N3 route and is set to become a destination stop off when on road trips.
The space contains different kitchens, all serving a particular cuisine, with almost every palate one can think of catered for. Choose from The Breakfast Bar until 11am and thereafter any of these kitchens: Artichoke – a vegan kitchen, Mr Biswa’s Durban Curry, The Burger Butcher, Mama Stellino Woodfired Pizza, Falafel & The Mediterranean, The Chicken Authority, El Tostada Mexican, Wild Child Gelato, Juice Brew, or Artisan Pies, with over 135 flavours of food and drink – spoiled for choice much?
We devoured some incredibly delicious pizzas and ordered the Durban mutton curry and a breyani as a takeway, which was extremely tasty for dinner back at home.
Definitely add this to your must-stop spot when next near Nottingham Road!
PS: they’ve revamped the petrol station ‘grab and go’ too and you can get the same yummy pies and pastries in there, along with other scrummy treats, with your usual petrol station staples :)
