We have a teenager in the house! Can’t quite believe that she’s just turned 13 – time goes way too fast!
After 11 years of the most beautiful skin, puberty kicked in and for 2 years she’s endured a bout of excema, an allergy to dairy, forehead acne and the odd red rash around her eyes and nose. She tried an elimination diet and suffered through a gluten- and dairy-free 2 months (right in the middle of her birthday month!), various face washes and medication – to no avail.
So when the team at Thursday Plantation asked if I’d like to do a product trial for them, I jumped at the opportunity.
For nearly 40 years, Thursday Plantation has brought the restorative power of Tea Tree oil, through their range of products, to restore skin to its healthiest.
Their backstory is pretty incredible and involves a walk through Africa which resulted in a tropical fungus attacking the toe of Christopher Dean, who was then told that it was incurable by doctors in London. His brother, Michael, made the journey from Australia across to London with some drops of Australian Tea Tree Oil, which miraculously cleared the fungus up and saved his toe within 4 days. The rest, as they say, is history as the Deans returned to Australia to turn the manufacturing of Tea Tree Oil into an industry.
Now their Tea Tree Oil is used in a range of health and beauty products, all using the pure power of plant oil.
SA Naturals have brought Thursday Plantation to South Africa and you are now able to reap the benefits of this range, which is available at Wellness Warehouse and reputable pharmacies across SA.
So how did the product trial go?
The skincare range is designed specifically for acne-prone skin and includes a 3-step cleanse, tone and moisturise regime, as well as a blemish stick and Tea Tree Blemish Gel.
After just 5 weeks of using all of the products, these are the results:
You can see in the before pic that there is noticeable redness around her eyes and nose, as well as a breakout across her forehead.
The after pic shows how the redness has subsided substantially after 4 weeks and her forehead has responded so well to the regime – still a few spots, but they are noticeably less inflamed and I’m certain over the next month or so these should calm down a lot.
I have now snuck the Tea Tree Blemish Gel into my routine too (adult acne is real yo!) and am using it on the breakouts I have on my cheeks and chin.
What we really noticed after just 2 days was a dramatic decrease in the redness around her nose and eyes and can directly attribute this to the presence of Chamomile, which calms and soothes skin redness. The antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties of Tea Tree Oil had an all round effect on clearing her complexion, naturally – I love that these products do not contain synthetic parabens, sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS), sodium lauryl ether sulphate (SLES), or harsh detergents. Tea Tree Oil has actually been proven to be as effective as Benzoyl Peroxide without the side effects!
So now for the giveaway!
I have a pack of the Thursday Plantation acne care products to give away, including the face wash foam, the witch hazel toner, the face cream, a blemish stick and a blemish gel valued at over R1000.

Some parting facts about this range which I love:
- The natural foaming face wash is soap free, so it gently cleans the skin without drying it out.
- The Tea Tree Blemish gel is free from Benzoyl peroxide, synthetic parabens, mineral oils, propylene glycol, lauryl sulphates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic colours, synthetic preservatives and animal derived ingredients.
- The toner contains 100% pure Australian tea tree oil, a natural antibacterial ingredient that removes excess oil and bacteria from the skin, as well as witch hazel, a natural astringent that tightens pores and improves skin appearance.
- The face cream contains a balanced blend of natural moisturisers including macadamia oil, rosehip oil and shea butter to restore the skin and not clog the pores.
You can buy Thursday Plantation online at Wellness Warehouse or in-store at leading pharmacies in SA.
