Thought it was time to share a before and after we recently completed. We’ve been in our new home for just over a year and there’s been masses of red dust, black paint and end-of-the-month-salticrax meals throughout the month – it’s so expensive renovating!
Most changes recently have been cosmetic and I’ve made friends with the guys at local paint store – they know my name now ;) But it’s amazing what a lick of paint can do!
This entrance area was a dull cream, as you can see on the left and the old school light fitting stood out like a sore thumb! We had placed an old cabinet there and jazzed it up with some greenery, but it was in desperate need of a revamp, so we got stuck into this area and gave it a paint with Dulux Roof Paint in ‘Abbey Road’ – yes roof paint – and then hung some shelves we bought at @home a while back. We used to have this ‘shelving unit’ inside, made from stacking pine sheets and pine cubes, but moved it out here as it’s an undercover area – so far it’s withstanding the weather.
So now you can see the after pic – grey walls, shelves up along with an array of succulents (real and fake!), as well as a host of plants I’ve bought, been given and grown from scratch. Have also hung my Boskke planters again and think the old school light fixture can stick around for a while as it seems to ‘blend in’ now ;)
I share quite a few renovation pics on my instagram page and use the hashtag #ashedavisabode so you can find more pics there.
