Boiler Room Cafe

Sometimes Durbs just gets it right and when it does, it’s flipping awesome.

I’m always on the hunt for a new food spot (we need a bigger variety!) so Boiler Room Cafe is right up my alley.

Located in the buzzing Lion Match Factory precinct and just around the corner from the new Station Drive precinct, it’s an architectural marvel with an exposed steel beam and pine ceiling and large slatted & hinged doors, letting in the breeze and a good dose of dappled sunlight. Bang on trend grey and white painted walls with a massive funky mural mean this is sure to be the new hot-to-trot-spot to be seen at.

Boiler Room Cafe will appeal to ‘ladies who lunch’ and office workers looking for a quick bite alike, as the menu is simple, straight forward and yummy – hard not to be with the masterminds behind 9th Avenue Bistro at the helm.

Yup, the same owners – Graham & Gina – have opened Boiler Room Cafe as a day time venture for breakfast and lunches only, so you are assured of a high level of service and attention to detail… I loved the food presentation, taste and variety and was totally blown away specifically by the pear, gorgonzola and walnut salad – as in totally blown away and dreamt about it all weekend! Nevermind the nutella chocolate cheesecake and carrot cake muffins that ended our meal…

Will be heading there again in the very near future as there were a few other things that my colleagues ate that looked insanely good – lamb wraps, beef burgers and some other tasty salads. There are also a good few vegetarian options on the menu which is nice to see. Prices are very reasonable too.
