I’m a sucker for an inspiring work space environment and love discovering South African creative spaces where the interior energy of the space is just as important as the work which is carried out within it. I’ve featured the work of In House Brand Architects before, where they revamped agency 99c in Cape Town. This time round they’ve taken on big boys Saatchi & Saatchi and given them a light-saturated, contemporary space with loads of white – so I’m swooning of course.
Love the mix of industrial black aluminium, softened with natural wood and velvety fabric.
And that reception area – amazing!
They’ve also transformed the restaurant space at Constantia Uitsig Wine Estate, with the launch of Open Door, located in a local heritage building on the estate. The new dining spot is the latest venture of restaurateurs Neil Grant and Barry Engelbrecht of Bocca and Burrata fame and the result is a contemporary, open plan dining area with French Provencal accents and dark moody colours – I can just imagine spending a leisurely afternoon here over a meal that takes hours – my best.
The reclaimed doors and door frames hanging from the ceiling are a fabulous nod to the building’s history and give the space a beautiful nostalgic feel – I really must plan another trip down to the cape soon – my feet are itching for a new creative/foodie experience…
