Product review: Bosch DIY tools

The team at Bosch asked me to review some of their DIY tools recently and I jumped at the opportunity!

I do quite a bit of crafting and have always stuck to glue dots and double sided tape for my endeavours, so when they asked me to test out their glue pen, IXO cordless screwdriver and cordless tacker (aka staple gun), of course I said yes.
The crafts and DIY I could suddenly take on were endless. I set myself the task of reviving this old-school telephone table which I bought for the bargain price of R200 at a secondhand store in Pinetown {the stuff you find in the strangest shops!}.

First I used the cordless screwdriver to remove the cushion from the stool – pretty straightforward with not much elbow grease needed – my kind of DIY ;)
It’s a battery operated screwdriver which comes with a recharge cradle and various sized and shaped heads that fit into the driver to let you tackle a variety of tasks – but the crème de la crème of this little gadget is that it comes with a wine bottle cork opener attachment! SERIOUSLY! Open your wine with aplomb and ease with one ‘screw’ – how’s that for cool?!

Next I recovered the cushion in a SA inspired Design Team fabric off-cut which I used the cordless tacker for – it got the job done in no time and I was in my element – I actually looked for a few other things to staple down ;)

I used the screwdriver again to reattach the cushion to the stool and then decided to give the table a bit of personality too and painted the feet bright yellow with an acrylic paint I bought at Typo.

And this is the final result!
I love it!
